Habersham MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is an organization for local Moms of Preschoolers (Conception thru Kindergarden) to get together in a friendly environment and share ideas. I for one am a member and don't know what I would do without this amazing group of ladies. Mops moms get together every two weeks. We do something different every week. A craft, listen to a speaker, projects for our community, etc. Some of my favorite meetings were a coupon class, organization binder, and any craft. I think most of all I enjoy the conversations, and sharing of ideas. We are all faced with challenges and it's nice to have other Moms to bounice your ideas off of.
What do I do with my children, you ask? We have volunteers that watch our children while we enjoy some much needed Mom time. All volunteers have had a background check and are screened thourolly. Your children are completely safe. While most Mops groups have to pay for child care we are very fortunate to have volunteers help out. They truly are an awesome group of ladies and will love your child like their own.
Also available are our mentor Moms. These are Moms who have already raised their children. They are also a great resource for questions you may have. we love hearing their stories and the challenges they faced. It's nice to hear that your not the only one going thru all of this.
It's hard with Pinterest, FB and all of these Mom blogs sometimes to feel like we are doing all we can. I have learned thru Mops that my home does not always have to be perfect and we do not have to fill our days with these perfect projects. It never goes that way. Life as a Mom is a Beautiful Mess! One Mom just shared with me that when her husband calls before coming home she lets him know if she's had a good "Mom"day or a good "Wife"day. A good Mom day means the house is completely destroyed but she and her child have had lots of fun and no worries. He brings home pizza. If it's been a good wife day then the house is clean and dinner is cooking. I love it. We need to have more "Good Mom Days" And truly enjoy our children.
